so here is a sketch of an oryx and a deep sea diver running together. needs much refinement, but it’s a start. front? back? i think front… Here is a noteworthy critique from a friend, for starters:
“ when the diver is behind the oryx, it feels like they’re jumbled together, when the diver is in front of the oryx there’s a lot of dramatic tension… to me it says, quite well, that human beings, despite their technology, are still organic in nature, and have instincts, like running. humans can cover themselves in technology, but the core will always be instinctive. I think there are multiple relationships one can talk about between technology and nature, and the one this band wants to use is the seeming tension between them. Your drawing definitely sets up that tension, since the two creatures are competing.”
Hmmmm, i need more critiques like this, it’s the one thing i miss about being in art school, lots of feedback.
a better rendering of the diver
ok, here is an album version/idea of this image. the feet being the front and the heads being the back…
another set of rejects, but happy rejects none the less. they may not look very different, but i used gel medium and a pallet knife to secure the receipts to the page instead of matt medium and a brush. i think its the better of the two methods thus far. next up, some experimenting with oil paints.
so, long ago i worked on this indie feature called Baby Blues, in the art department no less, it was my first feature ever in fact, and after more than a year in the works, it has finally made its way to DVD!!!! GET EXCITED!!!! and go buy it today! or pre-order rather…

Enjoy!!!
so, one of my roomies and i got really really really bored, and tired of doing the dishes, so we called the all powerful via ouija board and this is what he said…
neo was so impressed he felt the need to voice his wonder. after following his greatness’ orders to adorn the empty space above our sink with his glorious vision, doing dishes just doesn’t seem all that boring anymore. yay!
so, i began drawing again this afternoon, and to my surprise i didnt suck half as badly as i thought i would. i guess i just needed to feel like i wanted to draw instead of forcing it. anyhow, here is a sample of what i came up with. i think i might try to find some life drawing someplace so i can get back into that, excellent practice. and this is SF, i saw three bare nekked dudes walking around with cock rings the other day, so this should be easy.
