here is a sample i did with aging varnish over some rejected receipts, i have quite a few of them to play with. goal: find out how i best like them finished, then, finish the selected ones accordingly. i’ll probably be doing more experiments with oils, cracking varnish, stains, or ink washes. who knows, but stay tuned! if you have any suggestions for other artistic processes i should explore, i’m all ears…

i love how you can see and read both the back and the front of the receipt on the top right–begs questions about background and foreground. and i like the one bird…one shovel. it reminds me of you–never knowing what strange project you were going to be up to on the back steps. pretty girl, pretty project. -r
