experiment one

here is a sample i did with aging varnish over some rejected receipts, i have quite a few of them to play with. goal: find out how i best like them finished, then, finish the selected ones accordingly. i’ll probably be doing more experiments with oils, cracking varnish, stains, or ink washes. who knows, but stay tuned! if you have any suggestions for other artistic processes i should explore, i’m all ears…

hide and seek

sorry folks, the latest typewriter project has gone under wraps as it is currently being developed into a collaborative venture of soon to be epic proportions. it will most likely resume in a different blog, somewhere in the future. any experimenting i do on its behalf will still be posted, but the final product is TOP SECRET!  dun dun dun. but for now, a ghostly photo to tide you over. whoever can come up with the most creative title/caption wins a lollypop. get set, GO!

my type-o-writer

My typewriter needs cleaning. badly.

Attacks three and counting

So, a new development. COLLABORATION!!! with none other than Taylurker herself. stay tuned folks, good things are bound to happen.

Attacks 2

Anxiety Attacks

In my most recent spell of paranoia about events in my life, and the recent obtainment of my inherited IBM Selectric Typewriter, i have taken up a new project. Poems/thoughts/stress written on the back of some of my old receipts. I am becoming less and less interested in the drawing aspect of art, seeing as how i hardly ever do it anymore, and this is filling to gap quite nicely. i haven’t decided on a final treatment for these guys, but every night i plan to sit down and do a few to get the day off my mind, the best of which will eventually end up a series. Here are my three favorites so far. its ok, they dont have to make sense.

Street Anatomy

hey all, some awsome news, my friend Aman sent in a picture of a tattoo I drew for her to the blog site Street Anatomy. To my surprise and delight they posted a few of my posters as well and a link to my site! Needless to say I’m extatic about it, so please check it out, and a big big thanks to Aman and Vanessa Ruiz of street anatomy for the nice comments and publicity.
